Full Text

1 I know that Jesus love me
Before my tongue could speak;
I know that still He loves me,
Though I am young and weak;
He give me joy and gladness,
And takes my fear away,
And, like a gentle shepherd,
He leads me every day.

Refrain:
No friend on earth like Jesus,
No friend so dear can be;
And this is why I love Him,
Because He first loved me.

2 I know He must have loved me
A long, long time ago,
Because He came to save me,
The Bible tells me so;
And when He said that children
His tender care should be,
And give to them His blessing,
He meant a part for me. [Refrain]

3 His love has made me gentle,
And always kind and good;
O may I love Him better,
And praise Him as I should;
He wants that I should please Him
In every thing I do,
I know that Jesus loves me,
I’m glad I love Him too. [Refrain]
