Representative Text

1 I will not serve my Savior in a poor or selfish way,
Nor with a life of idleness His tender love repay.
I want to do the utmost for His glory that I may—
I want to do my very best for Jesus.

Refrain:
My very best for Jesus is the least that I can do;
And into service there must go m steadfast love and true;
And all that I can render is not half that is His due—
I want to do my very best for Jesus.

2 I want to stand for Jesus where His name is not revered;
I want to show my colors where the Father is not feared;
I would display His glory where the light hath not appeared—
I want to do my very best for Jesus. [Refrain]

3 I want to do my best, for I remember Calvary,
And all the deeds of tender love my Savior did for me:
I see the weeping eyes His dying form upon the tree—
O, I would do my very best for Jesus. [Refrain]
