Representative Text

1 In sorrow and in sin was I,
Condemned to death, afraid to die;
But Jesus heard my sad heart’s plea;
In love He stooped and lifted me.

Refrain:
Yes, Jesus stooped and lifted me,
By love and grace He lifted me;
From sin and shame thank God I’m free,
For Jesus stooped and lifted me.

2 In sins dark path once did I stray,
No light to guide me on my way;
What love so great! how could it be?
That Jesus stooped and lifted me. [Refrain]

3 For all my sins He did atone,
So when around His golden throne;
I’ll sing in all eternity,
That Jesus stooped and lifted me. [Refrain]

4 I’ll praise His name, while ages roll,
That grace and love redeemed my soul;
O, how I long the face to see,
Of Him who stooped and lifted me. [Refrain]
