We Are Marching On

Representative Text

1 In the army of the Lord,
We are marching on;
With our faces Zionward,
We are marching on;
Clad in armor always bright,
Ever ready for the fight,
Soldiers of the King of light,
We are marching on.

Refrain:
Marching, onward marching,
Marching onward hand in hand,
Marching to the shining land,
Hallelujah! We are marching on.

2 Serving Jesus day by day,
We are marching on;
Slaying lions by the way,
We are marching on;
Through our Captain, ever strong,
He, our watchword and our song,
All the pleasant way along,
We are marching on. [Refrain]

3 Clinging close to Jesus’ hand,
We are marching on;
Bound for Eden’s shining land,
We are marching on;
For the victors’ palms so bright,
For the crowns and robes of white,
For eternal joy and light,
We are marching on. [Refrain]
