One Step at a Time

Representative Text

1 It would not do for me to know,
God’s thot’s and plans divine;
His way is best to lead me on,
Just one step at a time.

Refrain:
Just one step at a time, dear Lord,
My hand held close in Thine;
Lead Thou me on to heights sublime,
Just one step at a time.

2 Sometimes I falter ‘neath the cares,
And burdens of the day;
But Thou wilt guide, if I in faith,
Trust each step of the way. [Refrain]

3 So I’ll not question “How” or “Why,”
But with my hand in Thine;
Trust Thy unfailing love to lead,
Just one step at a time. [Refrain]
