Representative Text

1 Keep the faith our fathers held before us!
Stand like valiant saints of old!
Like them, keep love’s banner floating o’er us,
And His truth unfold.
Let all earth re-echo with the chorus
By the martyrs sung:
Be the price—
His sacrifice—
The theme of every tongue.

Refrain:
Keep the faith all-glorious,
Grand, supreme, victorious,
For its precepts shall forever, evermore endure, forever.
Keep the faith unshaken!
Thou art not forsaken,
God still reigns! His truth remains
Forever sure.

2 Keep the faith our fathers doubted never!
Scourge of sword and flaming fire
Failed to break or for a moment sever
Them from their desire.
May we, like them, loyal be forever,
Fearing only sin,
Knowing He
Our strength will be
To gain the victory. [Refrain]

3 Keep the faith our fathers found availing,
When in dungeons dark they lay;
Though the foe within, without assailing,
Hold a moment’s sway.
Fear not! stand! God’s truth is never failing,
And in heav’n above—
Ours the crown,
The cross laid down,
To reign with Him in love. [Refrain]
