Children's Missionary Rallying Song

Representative Text

1 Let all the children rally, and for Jesus take their stand,
To sing the wondrous story till the notes reach ev’ry land,
Of redemption for all nations, wrought by God’s almighty hand,
Whose truth goes marching on.

Chorus:
Glory, glory hallelujah!
Glory, glory hallelujah!
Glory, glory hallelujah!
To Jesus Christ our King.

2 Tho’ little, God is calling us to spread abroad His praise,
To magnify His mercy, and exalt His saving grace,
To sing with cheerful voices of His love in childhood days,
Whose truth goes marching on. [Chorus]

3 Out of mouths of babes and sucklings, so ‘twas writ in days of old,
God hath His praise perfected, stilling the avenger bold;
And still from lips of children should the joyful notes be roll’d,
His truth goes marching on. [Chorus]

4 We know we are but children, and ‘tis little we can do,
But we love the cause of missions, and we love our Savior too,
And we love to show our colors, and prove that we are true,
While truth goes marching on. [Chorus]

5 And this is why we rally here and all so joyful sing,
And this is why with gladness our pennies here we bring,
To aid the cause of missions, so dear to Christ our King,
Whose truth goes marching on. [Chorus]

6 Then let all the children rally in ev’ry Christian land,
For Christ and foreign missions let them nobly take their stand,
In ev’ry congregation let them from a Junior Band,
And press this battle on. [Chorus]
