A channel of blessing

Make me a channel of blessing, dear Master

Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Make me a channel of blessing, dear Master,
Loving and loyal, whatever Thy will;
Poured forth, if needs be, as pure alabaster,
Emptied of all for Thee, Master, to fill.

2 O keep me near to Thee ever, dear Saviour,
Holding unbroken, communion with Thee;
Speaking to others by lips and behaviour,
Bearing a witness that all men may see.

3 Help me to yield Thee a hearty surrender,
Keeping back naught of life’s thought and its plan;
Learning by daily experience how tender,
Loving, and kind, is God’s heart towards man.

4 O make me patient when patience is needed,
Strengthened and guided by Thee all the way;
O may I never lose heart though unheeded,
Finding in Thee strength and joy for each day.

5 Only a channel of blessing, dear Father,
Honored by Thee in a service of love;
Only a channel of blessing—‘tis rather
Fit preparation for service above.
