My Faith Bids Me To Tarry

Representative Text

1 My faith bids me to tarry
Beneath the cross of Christ
And all my sins to carry
To Him, my Savior blest.

2 My faith bids me to chasten
All vanity of mine
And unto Him to hasten
For grace and help divine.

3 My faith bids me to nourish
My life upon His Word
And not attempt to flourish
Except where He is Lord.

4 My faith bids me to linger
Upon His work for me,
In grief to see His finger
And brave in death to be.

5 My faith bids me to bless Him
Whose way is always best;
Though oft my sins distress Him,
He takes me to His breast.

6 My faith bids me to follow
The Lord through all my days
And seek His name to hallow
In all my work and ways.
