1 நான் கண்டேன் எந்தன் துன்பத்தில்,இரகஸ்ய தைலமே,
ஓர் இன்ப காலை நாளை, ஆம் அன்பின் மழையைப்போல்,
ஒளஷதம் கண்டேனே நான், என் துன்பத்தில் விமோச்சனம்,
மெல்லோசை வாக்குமாமே, மெல்லோசை வாக்கிதே,
உடைந்து நொந்த யாவர்க்கும் மெல்லோசை வாக்கிதே.

2 நான் கேட்டேன் இன்ப ஓசன்னா, என் ஒவ்வோர் புலம்பலும்,
இன் மன்னா பெற்றேன் நானும், எஸ்கோலில் இல்லாததே,
ஆம் காய்ந்த துரவண்டை நான், கண்டேனே ஏலிம் இதே,
ஆம் காய்ந்த ஊற்றண்டையில், நான் கண்டேன் ஓர் ஏலிம்,
நான் சோர்ந்து நொந்த நேரம் ஆம் கண்டேன் இதோ ஏலிம்.

3 நான் ஏலிம் ஊற்றும் சோலை காற்றும் சோர்ந்த நேரம் கண்டேன்,
நான் கண்ணீர் சிந்தி சாய்ந்தேன், ஆம் வானவில்லுமே,
என் அருகில் ஆனாலும் தூரம், ஆம் மகிமை விந்தையுமே,
நான் சோர்ந்த நேரம் கண்டேன்,ஆ மகிமையாமே,
ஆம் மகிமையும் விந்தையே, ஆம் வான வில்லைப்போல்.

4 என் மீட்பரே நான் உம்மோடு, என் ஆனந்தமும் நீரே,
என் அன்பின் ஒளஷதம் நீர், பயந்தோர்க்காறுதல்,
வீழ்ந்தோர்க்கு தேற்றுதல் நீர், பயந்தோர்க்கு தாபரம்,
நீர் வானவில்லுமாமே, நீர் வானவில்லைப்போல்,
கண்ணீர் விடும் உம் பிள்கைக்கு, தூயோர்க்கு மகிமை.

Author: Mrs. T. D. Crewdson

Crewdson, Jane, née Fox, daughter of George Fox, of Perraw, Cornwall, was born at Perraw, October, 1809; married to Thomas Crewdson, of Manchester, 1836; and died at Summerlands, near Manchester, Sept. 14, 1863. During a long illness Mrs. Crewdson composed her works published as:— (1) Lays of the Reformation, 1860. (2) A Little While, and Other Poems (posthumous), 1864. (3) The Singer of Eisenach, n.d.; and (4) Aunt Jane's Verses for Children, 1851. 2nd ed. 1855, 3rd 1871. From these works nearly a dozen of her hymns have come into common use. The best known are, "O for the peace which floweth as a river," and "There is no sorrow, Lord, too light."
