Nu Gud ske lov, at stunden

Full Text

1 Nu Gud ske Lov, at Stunden
Er sød og blid oprunden
Jeg gaar til Paradis!
Forældre, I ei klage,
Men til min Grave ledsage
Mig hen med Herrens Lov og Pris!

2 Hvor kan Gud bedre gjøre,
End mig fra Verden føre,
Som er saa syndefuld?
Hver, som ei her har hjemme,
Dens Fiendskab maa fornemme,
Indtil han lægges ned i Muld.

3 Før var jeg eders Glæde,
Nu sørge I og græde,
Da je er vei forvart;
Naar I det ret betragte,
Gud Gjerning tjenligst agte,
Skal eders Taarer tørres snart.

4 Gud ene Tiden deler,
Han baade slaar og heler,
Han kjender Smaat og Stort,
Han intet Ondt bestemte,
Han intet godt forglemte,
Alt, havd han gjør, er herlig gjort.

5 Naar I skal se mig træde
For Gud i Brudeklæde
Med Livets Krone paa,
Med Seierens Pryd og Palmer,
Med Himlens Glæde-Salmer
For Lammet yndefuld at staa;

6 Da skal I Eder fryde,
Og begge To fortryde,
At I for mig har grædt.
Vel den, som i Guds Vilje
Sig overgiver stille,
Hans Hjerte vist vil blive let.

7 Farvel! jeg Afsked tager.
DenSorg, som I nu smager,
Maa Kjærligheden ske;
Gud eder selv ledsage,
Saa skal vi uden Klage
Hverandre snart for Thronen se!

Heermann, Johann, son of Johannes Heermann, furrier at Baudten, near Wohlau, Silesia, was born at Baudten, Oct. 11, 1585.
