O sinner, 'tis to you we come

Representative Text

1 O sinner, 'tis to you we come
With arms extended wide,
Inviting you to God's free grace,
For Christ was crucified.

Chorus:
Oh, will you heed God's call, or nay?
Come, give your heart to God;
It meaneth life or death for aye,
Oh, come, escape the rod.

2 The cup of bitter dregs he dried,
But God soon set him free,
Because obediently he died,
That man might ransomed be. [Chorus]

3 The grace of God! O sinner, hear,
'Twill cleanse you from all sin;
T'will lift the load you cannot bear,
And give you peace within. [Chorus]

4 Of earth's deceiving vanities,
An aching void to fill,
You drank in greater quantities,
That void remaineth still. [Chorus]

5 Come to this Fount of life and drink,
Jesus that void will fill,
So you shall never thirst again,
But rest, and praise him still. [Chorus]
