With what an awful meaning fraught
Yet surely we to judgment go
To reap just what in life we sow.

Yes, reap just what we sow;
Let's mind then what we do;
'Tis God's decree for you and me,
To reap just what we sow.

2 Reap what we sow! oh, when and where
Shall this reward so sure appear?
Beginning in God's church forgiv'n,
'Twill end in either hell or heav'n. [Refrain]

3 Reap what we sow! if to the flesh
We yield, and God's true Spirit crush,
We well may look for pain and death.
They're sure to come in evil's path. [Refrain]

4 Reap what we sow! no wealth or pow'r
Can help us in that judgment hour,
Except the wealth of faith alone;
We're sure to reap what we have sown. [Refrain]

5 Reap what we sow! oh, God of grace,
Pardon us ere we meet Thy face,
Grant us full cleansing from all sin,
The Spirit place our hearts within. [Refrain]

Sow to the Spirit constantly,

Author: Charles Price Jones

Charles Price Jones born December 9, 1865, near Rome, Georgia. He grew up in Kingston, Georgia, and attended the Baptist church. He was converted in 1884 while living in Cat Island, Arkansas. In 1885 he was called to the ministry and began preaching. In 1888 he attended Arkansas Baptist College and taught school in Grant County, Arkansas. He preached and pastored several Baptist churches. After asking God for a deeper experience of grace and fasting and praying for three days, Jones experienced a closeness with God, and in 1895, along with other Baptist holiness adherents, who taught that a second work of grace can cleanse the Christian of original sin.
