Turn from the wine cup

Representative Text

1 Red is the wine, but there's death in its glow,
Many the tears that it causeth to flow,
Many the hearts that its serpent sting know,
Turn from it quickly, resign it today.

Chorus:
Turn from the wine cup,
Turn from the wine cup,
Turn from the wine cup,
Death's in its glow.

2 Swiftly in temp'rance is luring away,
Young and old men whose hair has grown gray,
Blind to the dangers that compass their way,
Heed not the ruin that threatens them now. [Chorus]

3 Under the temperance banner we stand,
Ask you to join us, unite with our band,
Help sound the bugle call through the land,
Fallen humanity asks for our aid. [Chorus]
