Representative Text

1 Shepherds heard the glad refrain
On the early Advent morn,
And we join the heavenly strain:
"Jesus Christ, the Lord, is born!"

The good tidings proclaim,
"Christ is born! Christ is born!"
Till the world shall believe in His name;
Christ is born! Christ is born!

2 As the wise men haste to meet,
And their costly presents give,
So we come the Christ to greet;
He our best gifts shall receive. [Refrain]

3 "Glory in the highest" sing,
"Peace on earth, good will to men";
Let the bells of gladness ring,
Christ is born, Savior of men! [Refrain]

4 Jesus Christ shall save from sin;
Praise Him on this Advent morn!
Let Him be enthroned within!
Christ is born! the Christ is born! [Refrain]
