Representative Text

1 Since I’m bound for my home in the skies,
And I strive for that heavenly prize;
Since the Master has opened mine eyes
All the things of the world seem so small to me.

Chorus:
The things of the world seem so small to me,
Of treasures far greater I’d sing;
When the stars have grown old and the suns have grown cold,
I shall still be a child of the King.

2 All the wealth of the world must decay,
It may all disappear in a day;
But my treasures cannot pass away
All the things of the world seem so small to me. [Chorus]

3 There are those who have houses and lands,
But their riches are like shifting sands,
Greater treasures are at my command
And the things of the world seem so small to me. [Chorus]

4 All the favors of heaven are mine,
Endless rapture and glory divine;
In that land where the ransomed shall shine,
So the things of the world seem so small to me. [Chorus]
