Sound the Jubilee

Representative Text

1 Sound, sound the jubilee, God is our King!
Hail him, ye sons of men, His glory sing;
He has delivered us, Praise ye his name;
Let ev’ry mortal tongue His love proclaim.
Our wonderful, wonderful Lord and Saviour,
Who ruleth and reigneth from shore to shore,
To him shall the princes of earth be gathered,
And ages eternal his name adore.
Sound, sound the jubilee, God is our King!
Hail him, ye sons of men, His glory sing;
He has delivered us, Praise ye his name;
Let ev’ry mortal tongue His love proclaim.

2 Sound, sound the jubilee, wake and rejoice!
Laud his redeeming grace with heat and voice.
Great is the mighty Lord, great is our King,
Now and forevermore His praise shall ring.
Oh, joyfully, joyfully come united,
To honor and worship the Prince of Peace;
Oh, joyfully, joyfully spread his triumph,
And get him the glory that ne’er shall cease.
Sound, sound the jubilee, wake and rejoice!
Laud his redeeming grace with heat and voice.
Great is the mighty Lord, great is our King,
Now and forevermore His praise shall ring.

3 Brightly the morning star breaks from the skies,
O ye desponding ones, lift up your eyes;
Come to his temple gates, come, come away;
Haste, let his courts be filled with praise today.
He tenderly comforts the weary-hearted.
His mercy endureth forevermore;
Oh, wonderful, wonderful love of Jesus!
We’ll sing of its rapture when time is o’er.
Brightly the morning star breaks from the skies,
O ye desponding ones, lift up your eyes;
Come to his temple gates, come, come away;
Haste, let his courts be filled with praise today.
