Step Out on the Promise of God

Representative Text

1 Step out on the promise, O sinner,
The beautiful promise of God;
He surely will heal thee completely
Tho’ far thou hast wandered abroad.

Refrain:
Step out on the promise, the beautiful promise
The wonderful promise of God;
The word of Jehovah, it standeth forever,
Step out on the promise of God.

2 Step out on the promise, my brother,
The promise that ever shall stand;
“The souls whom my Father has given
None ever shall pluck from my hand.” [Refrain]

3 Step out on the promise, believing,
And never give way to despair,
There’s balm for thy healing in Gilead
The mighty Physician is there. [Refrain]
