The Great Glad Day

Representative Text

1 There will come a day when the Lord shall say
To the saints of earth, Arise!
With their wings unfurled, they shall leave the world
For their mansions in the skies.

Refrain:
O that great glad day, in His bright array,
We shall then behold the King!
O the joy our souls shall in Heaven know,
In that good and great glad day!

2 O I look aloft and I wonder oft
When that blessèd day shall dawn,
It is hidden yet, duty must be met,
So in faith I’m pressing on. [Refrain]

3 In the shining ranks, giving praise and thanks,
Sinner, don’t you want a place?
Turn to Jesus now, in contrition bow,
He’ll prepare you through His grace. [Refrain]

4 Bells of Heaven chime, usher in the time,
Come Thou, Christ, whom we adore;
Golden harps, ring out, all ye saved men, shout,
Glory, glory evermore. [Refrain]
