Representative Text

1 There's a soft pleading voice, calling tenderly,
To the heart heavy laden and sad;
At the cross thou shalt be, from thy burden set free,
Then look up, weary one, and be glad.

Chorus:
O come, unto Jesus,
And His love do not doubt;
This the promise to thee:
He that cometh unto Me,
I will never, no never cast out.

2 Heed not sin's luring tones, tho' so temptingly
She doth whisper of joys yet unknown;
Only Jesus can give pleasures sweet, that will live;
He withholds naught of good from His own. [Chorus]

3 When He hung on the cross, O how cruelly!
Did they mock as they pass'd by Him there!
Will you mock at Him too, when He hung there for you,
Whom He lov'd with a love past compare? [Chorus]

4 Yield to Him, for He pleads, O so patiently!
As no friend ever sought thee before,
On His dear, loving breast, all who come shall find rest;
Joy and peace to thy soul He'll restore. [Chorus]
