Representative Text

1Through the blood I sought for pardon free,
The blood that flowed on Calvary,
And now I walk in liberty,
Redeemed by Jesus’ blood.

Refrain:
O the blood, the blood, the precious blood!
I plunge today beneath the cleansing flood!
O the blood, the blood, the precious blood,
That Jesus shed for me!

2 Through the blood I’ve found the perfect way,
Where inbred sin is washed away,
And perfect love reigns night and day,
Washed white in Jesus’ blood. [Refrain]

3 Through the blood I’m kept in perfect peace,
From sin and self I’ve found release,
His care for me will never cease,
Preserved by Jesus’ blood. [Refrain]

4 Through the blood I’ll enter heav’n at last,
When all the voyage of life is past;
At Jesus’ feet my crown I’ll cast,
Safe home through Jesus’ blood. [Refrain]
