Jesus All the Way

Representative Text

1 'Tis Jesus when the burden'd heart
Is sinking 'neath its load;
And Jesus when the trembling steps
Can hardly keep the road;
And Jesus when the sun of joy
Has set in sorrow's night,
For he alone can soothe the pain,
Or guide the steps aright.

Chorus:
'Tis Jesus in the morning hours,
And Jesus thro' the day,
And Jesus in life's eventime,
And Jesus all the way.

2 'Tis Jesus when the infant tongue
Can hardly lisp the name,
And when the form is bent with age,
'Tis Jesus just the same;
For on our way to pastures green,
Lest we from him should stray,
Our Shepherd walks before his sheep,
And leads them all the way. [Chorus]

3 'Tis Jesus for the friendless one,
The weary, sad and lone;
And Jesus for the sinner's hope
To change the heart of stone;
And Jesus when the hour has come
To cross the silent stream;
Then Jesus, Jesus evermore,
Shall be our new song's theme. [Chorus]
