Representative Text

1 We are pilgrims going home,
‘Neath the banner of the cross,
Where no sorrows ever come,
Neither pain nor death nor loss.
For the blood has been applied
From His bleeding hand and side,
We will join the sanctified
Over there.

Refrain:
Home, beautiful home,
Home, beautiful home,
Where His praises ever swell,
Where the ransom’d ever dwell,
Where they never say farewell,
Over there.

2 We are pilgrims to a land,
‘Neath the banner of the cross,
Over on whose golden strand
Wealth of this is simply dross;
When the wiles of life are o’er
Where we meet to part no more,
With the lov’d ones gone before,
Over there. [Refrain]

3 WE are pilgrims on our way,
‘Neath the banner of the cross,
Soon will dawn the perfect day
Where we feel no pain or loss,
We shall tread the golden street,
Share in glory rich, complete,
Bow in rev’rence at His feet,
Over there. [Refrain]
