Prince of Peace

Representative Text

1 We will tell the wondrous story
Of happy tidings brought to earth,
Of the angel hosts in glory,
Proclaiming Jesus’ birth;
Hear the heav’nly voices singing,
“Good will on earth to men,
Unto you is born a Savior,
A prince, in Bethlehem.”

Refrain:
Let us sing with joy and gladness,
The happy songs of Jesus’ love,
’Till we join the heav’nly chorus
In that bright home above.

2 Here we raise our tuneful voices
To sing of Christ, the newborn King,
Telling how the men of wisdom
Their precious gifts did bring;
Telling how the shepherds worshipped
The infant Savior there,
Bowing low in adoration,
O, vision grand and fair. [Refrain]

3 On the great white throne in glory,
That Savior, once of earth, doth wait,
While the saints around are beck’ning,
Within the pearly gate.
Soon we’ll lay aside earth’s trials,
And when our journey’s o’er,
We will meet the King eternal,
Upon the golden shore. [Refrain]
