Gladly we welcome the risen King,
Beauty and sweetness to Him we bring.
This is the word that the flowers say,

Turning their faces to Heaven’s blue!
Giving out perfume the whole day thro’,

Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest.
