Representative Text

1 When the waves of my sorrow o’erwhelm me,
Savior, to Thee from the depth will I cry;
Unto Thee, Lord, so mighty to save me,
“Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”

Refrain:
Lead me to the Rock, lead me to the Rock,
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I;
Lead me to the Rock, O lead me,
Lead me to the Rock, O lead me,
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

2 Thou art e’er my defence and my shelter,
And unto Thee in my need will I fly;
For Thy mercy shall nevermore fail me,
“Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” [Refrain]

3 When life’s clouds and its darkness enshroud me,
Unto my soul Thou wilt surely draw nigh;
Neath Thy wings Thou wilt shelter and hide me,
“Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” [Refrain]
