Laudate Dominum

Yield unto God the mighty Lord

Author: Thomas Norton
Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Yield unto God the mighty Lord
praise in his holiness,
And in the firmament of his
great pow'r praise him no less.

2 Advance his Name, and praise him in
his mighty acts always;
According to his excellence
and greatness give him praise.

3 His praises with the princely noise
of sounding trumpets blow;
Praise him upon the viol, and
upon the harp also:

4 Praise him with timbrel and with flute,
organs and virginals,
With sounding cymbals praise ye him,
praise him with loud cymbals.

5 Whatever hath the benefit
of breathing, praise the Lord
To praise his great and holy Name
agree with one accord.
