1 Come, Holy Spirit, God and Lord,
Be all Thy graces now outpoured
On Thy believer's mind and heart;
Thy fervent love to them impart.
Lord, by the brightness of Thy light,
Thou in faith dost men unite
Of ev'ry land and ev'ry tongue;
This to Thy praise, O Lord, be sung.

2 Thou strong Defender, Light divine,
O let Thy Word within us shine.
Teach us to know our God aright
And call Him Father with delight.
From doctrines strange our hearts preserve,
Lest from the path of truth we swerve.
May Christ, our Master, be our guide
And may we e'er in Him confide.

3 Thou sacred Ardor, Comfort sweet,
Help us with joy each task to meet,
That is Thy love we may abide
And ne'er in trouble turn aside.
O lend Thy strength to ev'ry heart,
And courage for the fray impart,
That as good warriors we may force
Thro' life and death to Thee our course!
