41. The Finest of the Wheat

1 I have reach’d the land where living waters flow,
Where from Canaan’s shore the gentle breezes blow;
Here I find in Christ a sure and safe retreat,
And he feeds me with the finest of the wheat.

Refrain:
O glory to God for the blessed, blessed rest
Which I find each day on my loving Savior’s breast!
For I talk with him in communion sweet,
And he feeds me with the finest of the wheat.

2 Now I find sweet peace, my mind is stay’d on Him,
Here the Star of Hope no shadows ever dim;
Here he gives me joy abounding and complete,
And he feeds me with the finest of the wheat. [Refrain]

3 Here within my heart the bells of heaven ring,
Here my Savior’s praise the song I love to sing;
And when I in pray’r my blessed Master meet,
Then he feeds me with the finest of the wheat. [Refrain]

4 So each day I’ll cling to Him and hold His hand,
For He knows the path to heaven’s happy land;
He will lead me till I reach the golden street,
And he’ll feed me with the finest of the wheat. [Refrain]
