1 Ye pilgrims on a foreign strand,
Tho’ long or brief your stay,
Cling not to earthly pleasures, for
They’re transient as the day!
But ever bear this tho’t in mind,
With passing down life’s way—
Nothing fully satisfies but Jesus!

2 Go look the whole wide world around

The hunger of your soul,

That all the joys of time and sense
Will not at last avail;
