| Text: | Like the Brook to the Valley |
| Author: | Elbert A. Smith |
1 Like the brook to the valley,
Like the bird to the hill,
Zion's children shall rally,
They shall sing to thee still.
Like a light by the ocean,
Like a star in the sky,
With the world in commotion,
Zion's light shall burn high.
2 Then like Enoch's fair city,
Shall the one that we found,
Rise in justice and pity,
From the Lord's chosen ground.
And the one of fair story,
The abode of pure love,
With the Savior in glory,
Shall descend from above.
3 Like the Angels at labor,
Both in spirit and word,
Ev'ry man and his neighbor,
They shall work for the Lord.
Though the vision may linger,
And the time seem o'erdue,
It is writ by God's finger,
It must surely come true.
