65. I Touched the Hem of His Garment

1 My Lord was passing my way one day,
And tenderly He said to me:
“Just touch the hem of My garment now,
Thou shalt from sin be free.”

Refrain:
I touched the hem of His garment,
And o’er my sin-sick soul;
I felt the life-giving current
Sweep in and make me whole.

2 I pressed my way to His precious side,
My sinful soul with longing stirred;
And knelt repentant at His dear feet,
Believing on His word. [Refrain]

3 His blood so precious avails for me,
Since I repentant came to Him,
And touch’d the hem of His garment fair,
And felt His pow’r sweep in. [Refrain]
