73. His Mercy to Me

1 Far out on the cold rugged mountains of sin,
And near to the brink of despair,
I wandered in sorrow and darkness alone,
But Jesus came seeking me there.

Refrain:
O glory to Jesus, my Shepherd so dear,
I’ll praise Him where’er I may be;
O glory to Jesus, I’ll sing of His love,
And tell of His mercy to me.

2 He lifted my burden, He opened mine eyes,
The light of His smile to behold;
Then tenderly pillowed my head on His breast,
And carried me home to His fold. [Refrain]

3 And while in His presence by faith I abide,
There patiently learning His will;
In perfect enjoyment I sit at His feet,
The storm and the tempest are still. [Refrain]

4 O glory to Jesus, my soul has found rest,
My spirit from bondage is free;
I never can thank Him for all He has done,
To purchase a ransom for me. [Refrain]
