117. Homeward, All Rejoicing

1 A song of gladness raising, our Redeemer praising,
We are going home with Him;
His light upon us shining, all to Him resigning,
We shall pass the shadows dim.
In love divine believing, precious gifts receiving
From our Saviour day by day,
And keeping praises winging, of His goodness singing,
We are walking the glory way.

ChorusL
Homeward, all rejoicing, sweetest praises voicing,
Going to a country where joys eternal wait;
Safely Jesus guides us, sharing what betides us;
Blessings bestowing, onward we are going,
Nearing the golden gate.

2 His saving grace will lead us and His manna feed us,
So we shall not miss the road;
His Spirit ever near us will uphold and cheer us
Till we reach the glad abode.
And tho' our foes assail us, love will never fail us,
But will keep us day by day,
So, on His promise resting of His love attending,
We are walking the glory way. [Chorus]

3 And soon in realms of glory love's delightful story
We shall gladly sing and tell,
And there beside the river we shall serve forever
Him who doeth all things well.
So on and on we're going, love for Jesus showing,
Fearin not that we shall stgray,
And singing out our gladness to the hearts in sadness,
We are walking the glory way. [Chorus]
