136. I Shall Be Like Him

1 I shall be like Him—O blessed tho’t!
He who the change in my heart hath wrought;
But some glad day sin shall lose its trace;
I shall be changed when I see His face.

When in His glory He comes again;

When as King He comes to reign.

2 No more shall cumber this human mind,
Weakness of flesh shall no longer bind;
Then shall temptation no more annoy;
I shall ascend with a shout of joy. [Refrain]

3 Like Him who loves me—how can it be!
Jesus my Savior, who died for me;
Sing now, my soul, joy and praise command,
For thy redemption is nigh at hand. [Refrain]
