44. Christ is Reigning Now

1 On the throne of David Christ is reigning now,
King of kings and Lord of lords is he;
At his feet in full submission let us bow,
And his loyal subjects ever be.

Refrain:
Heaven’s ringing now with joyful song,
Holy angels loud the strain prolong;
Glory to our Savior, let his praises roll,
He is reigning now from pole to pole.

2 In no future age will he return to earth,
To establish here a kingdom vast;
He will come to gather all of heav’nly birth,
Take them t their happy home at last. [Refrain]

3 Hail, all hail the mighty Monarch! let his praise
Echo till it reaches every land;
With increasing volume fill the passing days,
Till around his shining throne we stand. [Refrain]

4 Let the world behold his glory, bow the knee,
Give him honor for his works of love;
Render ceaseless homage, let all voices be
Joined to laud him with the hosts above. [Refrain]
