1 O gift divine, God’s boundless love revealing
To every wand’ring soul by sin oppressed;
O heart of mine, o’er every chord comes stealing
The joy I felt when first I found that rest.

Is pledge of love untold;
Break forth in song and speed along
The story sweet and old.

2 O wondrous love, proclaimed in song and story,
So full, so free to all the sons of men!
From heav’n above, from throne of brightest glory
