1 Lord God, the Ever-Living,
On whom men’s hopes are set,
Lord God, the Ever-Loving,
Forbid that we forget!

The place where human sorrow
And heaven’s pity met,—
The cross-tree on the mountain
Forbid that we forget!

2 Forbid that we should ever
Forget a world once lost,
Forget a Christ who rescued,
