Jesus, poor sinners will receive

Appears in 3 hymnals Scripture: Psalm 26 Lyrics: 1 Jesus, poor sinners will receive, And make them welcome too; He calls on them to come and live! I am a friend to you. 2 He eats and drinks, and treats with them, On gracious terms of peace; And they who firmly b'lieve on him, Shall know his pard'ning grace. 3 He seeks them as poor wand'ring sheep, Who e'er and go astray; And by his providence will keep, Them in the righteous way. 4 He calls them with a loving voice, And wishes them to come; And angels too with him rejoice! To see them turning home. 5 He seeks the lost till they are found, He saves and sets them free; His heart with pure desires abound, Their happiness to see. 6 O why should sinners dread or fear? On Jesus to attend-- Who calls on them to bring them near, To him, their Lord and friend. Topics: Third Sunday after Trinity

A Psalm of David

Appears in 1 hymnal Scripture: Psalm 26 First Line: Judge me, O Lord, for walk I do Lyrics: 1 Judge me, O Lord, for walk I do In mine integrity: Upon the Lord I trust also, Slide therefore shall not I. 2 Search me, O Lord, prove me likewise, My reins and my heart try: 3 Because thy grace is 'fore mine eyes, And in thy truth walk I. 4 With persons vain I have not sat, Nor with dissemblers gone: 5 Church of malignants I do hate, And sit the wicked from. 6 In cleanness wash my hands I will, So lord thy altar round. 7 With thankful voice that I may tell, And all thy wonders sound. 8 Thy house's habitation dear, O Lord in love have I, The place and tabernacle where Resides thy majesty. 9 Let not my soul with sinners lye, With men of blood my life: 10 In whose hands guile, and bribery In their right hand is rife. 11 Redeem and pity me, for I Walk in mine uprightness: My foot stand right the Lord will I In Church-assembly bless.

To visit, Lord, thy sacred House, Has been my great Delight; That holy Tabernacle, where Thy Glory shines so bright. 9. With Sinners let me not be join'd, Nor with the bloody Tribes; 10. Whose Hands in Mischief are employ'd, Their Right-Hand's full of Bribes. 11. For I will walk in Righteousness; In Mercy, me redeem. 12. My Foot stands right; among thy Saints, Thy Praise shall be my Theme.
