Person Name: Unknown Scripture: Luke 12:49-53 Composer of "DUNDEE" in Glory to God In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

Johann Rudolf Ahle

1625 - 1673 Person Name: Johann Rudoph Ahle (1625-1673) Scripture: Luke 12:32 Composer of "NUREMBURG" in Many Voices; or, Carmina Sanctorum, Evangelistic Edition with Tunes Johann Rudolph Ahle, b. Mühlhausen, 1625; Ahle studied theology at Erfurt University. Little is known about his musical education, but be became well known as an organist while he was in Erfurt. He returned to Mühlhausen and became an organist at St. Blasius Church, he composed organ music but is know for his sacred choral music. He was the father of Johann Georg, who was also a composer and succeeded his father as organist at St. Blasius Church. Frederick C. Atkinson

1841 - 1896 Person Name: Frederick C. Atkinson, 1841-1897 Scripture: Luke 12:31 Composer of "MORECAMBE" in Worship and Rejoice Born: Au­gust 21, 1841, Nor­wich, Nor­folk, Eng­land. Died: No­vem­ber 30, 1896, East Dere­ham, Nor­folk, Eng­land. As a boy Atkinson was a chorister and assistant organist at Norwich Cathedral. In 1867 he graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Cambridge and then served as organist and choirmaster in St. Luke's Church, Manningham, Bradford. He also held that position at Norwich Cathedral and at St. Mary's Parish Church in Lewisham. Atkinson wrote hymn tunes, anthems, and complete Anglican services, as well as songs and piano pieces.
