Each Day A Little Nearer

Author: Faith Williams Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #7902 Meter: 7.6.7.6 D First Line: Each day in sweet communion Lyrics: 1 Each day in sweet communion, With Jesus now I rise, And find His service ever A glad and sweet surprise; Though what each day is bringing My soul may never guess, Yet to His cross I’m clinging, And on my way I press. 2 And day by day I’m learning That though my earthly way Is oft through shadows winding, ’Twill lead to perfect day; Each day I know I’m resting Within His sheltering arms; My heart, this thought enfolding, Is safe from earth’s alarms. 3 So trusting in His mercy And love so measureless, Each day my soul is fuller Of peace and joyfulness; Each day, while life is given, Still stronger would I be, Till from on high my Savior Shall say, Come home with Me."
