Peace Will I Give Unto You

Author: Donald Graul Appears in 2 hymnals First Line: Fresh as the dewdrops falling Refrain First Line: "Peace will I give, peace will I give" Lyrics: 1 Fresh as the dewdrops falling After the heat of day, Sweet as the perfume rising Up from the new-mown hay, So to the aching spirit, Bidding its sorrow cease, Cometh the unseen Presence, Bearing the gift of peace. Refrain: Peace will I give, peace will I give, Free as the dewdrops falling, Jesus His peace will give. 2 Peace like the calm of evening Crowned by the sunset glow, Peace like a mighty river Moving in ceaseless flow; Peace which shall pass all knowledge Peace none may ever win Until the heart is ready For Christ to enter in. [Refrain] 3 Come, then, O precious Savior, Great peace Thy presence brings, Lifting the heart each moment Over all earthly things; Giving a glimpse of Eden, Spirit of God, O come, Guiding thro’ life’s deep shadows, Lighting our journey home. [Refrain] Used With Tune: [Fresh as the dewdrops falling] Text Sources: Song Praises by Charles H. Gabriel (Carbondale, IL: Egyptian Publishing Company, 1906)
