Gordon Light

Hymnal Title: More Voices Author of "My Love Colours Outside the Lines (Outside the Lines)" in More Voices Gordon Light was born in Alberta, but as an Air Force brat, lived in many places growing up. He attended Carleton University in Ottawa (B.A.) and Trinity College in Toronto (S.T.B). Ordained deacon and priest in 1969, he served in parishes in Cariboo, Edmonton and Rupert’s Land dioceses. Following a time as Dean of Cariboo in Kamloops, he moved to Toronto in 1992 to serve as Principal Secretary to the Primate. Returning west in 2001, he was Administrative Assistant to the Metropolitan of BC and Yukon, and then consecrated bishop for the Anglican Parishes of the Central Interior (formerly Cariboo). After retiring at the end of 2008, Gordon was appointed chaplain to Church House staff until (2010). Among other hobbies, a longtime passion has been song-writing. He is married to Barbara Liotscos, also an Anglican priest. Both retired first to Meaford, Ontario, and now live again in Kamloops, BC. They serve as honourary assistants in St. Paul’s, Cathedral, but have also been engaged in interim ministry in other parishes. They have taken some time to travel, enjoy connecting with children and grandchildren, and have recently added their young Bernedoodle, Keady, to their household. Gordon Light

Andrew Donaldson

b. 1951 Hymnal Title: More Voices Arranger of "[My love colours outside the lines]" in More Voices Andrew Donaldson, a composer and church musician, grew up in northern Ontario, Canada. He attended Glendon College, York University in Toronto, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. He went on to study classical guitar performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, receiving its ARCT (Associate of Royal Conservatory Teachers) degree in 1979. Since then he has worked as a composer and performer in many contexts, in both French and English. Andrew co-edited the Book of Praise (1997), Presbyterian Church in Canada, with Donald Anderson. Their company, Binary Editions, continues to administer copyright for the PCC. In 2007 he was made a Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa, by Knox College of the University of Toronto, for his body of work in congregational song in the Presbyterian Church in Canada. In 2011 Andrew and his wife, Wendy, moved to Geneva, Switzerland where Andrew works as a worship consultant to the World Council of Churches. --Submitted by Andrew and Wendy Donaldson, 13 August 2013
