Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim

Author: Charles Wesley; Norton Meter: 10.10.11.11 Appears in 668 hymnals Topics: Adoration; Worship; Worship; liturgical Doxology First Line: Ye servants of God! Your Master proclaim Lyrics: 1 You servants of God, your Master proclaim, and publish abroad his wonderful name; the name all-victorious of Jesus extol; his kingdom is glorious and rules over all. 2 God rules in the height, almighty to save; though hid from our sight, his presence we have; the great congregation his triumph shall sing, ascribing salvation to Jesus our King. 3 "Salvation to God, who sits on the throne!" let all cry aloud, and honor the Son; the praises of Jesus the angels proclaim, fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb. 4 Then let us adore and give him his right: all glory and power, all wisdom and might, all honor and blessing with angels above and thanks never ceasing for infinite love. Psalter Hymnal, 1987

Ye servants of the Lord

Author: Philip Doddridge, 1702-1751 Meter: 6.6.8.6 Appears in 454 hymnals Topics: Third Sunday Before Advent Year A Lyrics: 1 Ye servants of the Lord, each in his office wait, observant of his heavenly word, and watchful at his gate. 2 Let all your lamps be bright, and trim the golden flame; gird up your loins as in his sight, for aweful is his name. 3 Watch! 'tis your Lord's command, and while we speak, he's near; mark the first signal of his hand, and ready all appear. 4 O happy servant he in such a posture found! he shall his Lord with rapture see, and be with honour crowned. 5 Christ shall the banquet spread with his own royal hand, and raise that faithful servant's head amid the angelic band. Scripture: Luke 12:35-39 Used With Tune: NARENZA
