Representative Text

1 Dage komme, Tider skride,
Ingen kjender Herrens Stund,
Maaske Verden end skal lide
Nød og Trængsel mangelund;
Maaske snart det nu er nok?
Agt paa Tiden, Kristi Flok!
Se, de Tordenskyer drage
Over Kirkens Taarn og Tage!

2 Giv, o Gud, naar Trængslen stiger,
Og du fører Domme frem
Over Verdens Land og Riger,
At vi være maa blandt dem,
Som du har et Øie paa!
Jesus, bed, at vi maa gaa
Fri fra Synde-Straffens Vaade,
Handle du med os i Naade!

3 Der, hvor Aadslet er, desværre,
Samles graadig Ulv og Ørn;
Hav Langmodighed, o Herre,
Med os arme Syndens Børn!
Giv os tid og far med Taal,
Før du tænder Vredens Baal,
Og, naar hele Verden brænder,
Ræk imod os begge Hænder!
