Representative Text

1 Do you hear the bugle sounding on the hilltops?
Can you hear it echo far upon the plain?
‘Tis the call for Christian soldiers now to rally;
Let us gather ‘neath our banner once again.

Refrain:
Let us rally for the right!
Hark, the bugle calls us forth!
Shout afar our battle cry,
“For our faith we’ll fight and die!”
Let us rally, rally, rally for the right,
Let us rally, rally, rally for the right!

2 Now the time has come to buckle on your armor,
And be sure your sword is keen and shineth bright;
See the hosts of Satan gath’ring on the ramparts;
There is urgent need of brave men for the fight. [Refrain]

3 Let us pray to God to give our arms the vict’ry;
Then away we’ll march with banners proudly spread;
And we’ll go, with eager hearts, unto the battle
With our blessed Lord and Captain at the head. [Refrain]
