1 Father, lead me, for I need Thee
Ev’ry step of life’s long way;
Thou alone art e’er unchanging,
Give Thy presence day by day.
Father, lead me now and ever,
For I know Thy way is best,
Fold me closer, fold me closer,
Let me find in Thee sweet rest.
2 From all sin and fear of falling
Fully free my soul would be;
And with humble, child-like trusting,
I would follow only Thee. [Refrain]
3 Father, lead me until evening,
When shall set life’s fleeting sun,
And I bring my sheaves all golden,
Then to hear Thee say, “Well done.” [Refrain]Source: Jubilate : A Modern Sunday-School Hymnal #47
