1 Kurorëzo atë mbi fronin, qengjin tonë,
Dhe thur një këng’ qiellore që çdo tjetre ia kalon.
Pra zgjohu dhe këndo! Ai vdiq në kryq për ne.
Si mbretin tënd atë prano, për koh’ t’përjetëshme.

2 Kurorëzo atë, të mishëruarin Zot,
Që triumfoi me plagët që i mori në Golgotë.
Si deg’ nga trungu del, nga rrënjët një filiz,
Na erdhi ai prej t’lartit qiell me anë të Marisë.

3 Kurorëzo atë, që mëkatar’t i do.
Në duart e tij dhe brinjën që e shpuan shihet kjo.
K’to plagë ai i mban ende në qiell dhe sot.
Tani aq shumë t’lavd’ruara janë! S’i v’rejnë as engjëjt dot.

4 Kurorëzo atë, që vdekjen e pushtoi,
I cili ësht’ ringjallur që gjithkush tani t’shpëtojë.
Ai vdiq—i qoft’ lavdi—u ngjall dhe u ngjit lart,
Që vdekjen ai ta vrasë dhe t’i ringjallë mëkatar’t.

5 Kurorëzo atë, që paqe rrezaton,
Që luftëra t’mos plasin më Ai me drejt’si mbret’ron.
Mbret’ria që ai ka perjetë do të rrijë;
Tek këmb’t e tij t’gozhduara në gjunj’ t’përkulemi.

6 Kurorëzo atë, që kohën e drejton;
Që dje ka qenë, sot është dhe që i njëjt’ do t’jet’ gjithmonë.
Aí në qiell, që kaq i lartë mbi kohë qëndron,

Godfrey Thring (b. Alford, Somersetshire, England, 1823; d. Shamley Green, Guilford, Surrey, England, 1903) was born in the parsonage of Alford, where his father was rector. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, England, he was ordained a priest in the Church of England in 1847. After serving in several other parishes, Thring re­turned to Alford and Hornblotten in 1858 to succeed his father as rector, a position he retained until his own retirement in 1893. He was also associated with Wells Cathedral (1867-1893). After 1861 Thring wrote many hymns and published several hymnals, including Hymns Congregational (1866), Hymns and Sacred Lyrics (1874), and the respect­ed A Church of England Hymn Book Adapted to the Daily Services of the Church… Go to person page >
