The Work of Love

Representative Text

1 There are those we must encourage,
Who are struggling and trying to win;
For we know not their temptations,
Nor the fight they are waging with sin.

Refrain:
Scatter deeds of kindness and love,
It will brighten the pathways above;
Scatter deeds of love along the way
That leads to everlasting day.

2 Is thy brother faint and weary?
Go and help him his burden to bear!
Has he wandered from the pathway?
Go and lead him to Jesus in prayer! [Refrain]

3 Here a loving word of comfort,
There an action of mercy and love;
Scatter sunshine all around you,
And the Lord will reward you above. [Refrain]
