1 Til Guds Hus velkommen vΩær,
Jesus Krist, vor Herre kjær!
Driv os ved din Aand at staa
Der med hellig Guds Attraa!
lad det vorde Hjertens Trang
Holde med di Kirkegang,
Møde dig med Lov og Sang!

2 Lad os glædes der i dig,
Helliges til Himmerig
Ved dit Vidnesbyrd og Ord,
lad det lyse opnpaa Jord,
At hver Sjæl, sin Synd begræd,
Lægge kan sin Jammer ned,
Fare bort herfra i Fred!

3 Dette dog vi vide skal:
Mange er du sat til Fald,
Til et Tegn saa stort og klart,
Som dog skal modsiges hart,
Men til stor Opreisnings Magt
For hver den, i Troens Pagt
Al sin Hu til dig har lagt.

4 Herre Gud, ret Tro os giv,
Pagt os for den Bantro stiv,
Som staar Krist, den Søn, imod,
Vrager hans det dyre Blod,
Spilder alt, havd han har gjort,
Stænger Himmeriges Port,
Fører os i Natten bort!

5 Høre vi, men gjør det ei,
Vendes bort en anden Vei,
Støde ud Guds Naade stor,
Og forarges paa hans Ord,
Tænke selv at to os ren,–
Større Sund og værre Meen,
Krist blev os en Snublesten.

6 Derfor, Gud, os alle und,
Fod at saa paa Sandheds Grund,
At Freds-Klippen, Kristus, maa
til Opreisning blandt os staa,
Og i Aanden vi med Hast
Komme maa og bygge fast
Hus, som staar mod Stormens Kast!

7 Lovet være du, som kom
Os til Frelse, ei til Dom!
Og ophøiet over Jord
Drager os med aand og Ord!
Lovet være du, som gav
Liv i Død og Lys i Grav,
Stærkest Haab og støest Stav!

Magnus Brostrup Landstad (born 7 October 1802 in Måsøy, Norway and died 8 October 1880 in Kristiania) was a Norwegian minister, psalmist and poet who published the first collection of authentic Norwegian traditional ballads in 1853. This work was criticized for unscientific methods, but today it is commonly accepted that he contributed significantly to the preservation of the traditional ballads.
